WELCOME TO OOCR REGION ŠARIŠ

• What is OOCR? OOCR is an abbreviation of Regional Tourism Organisation. It is a legal entity established under Act No. 91/2010 Coll. on the promotion of tourism. It promotes and creates conditions for the development of tourism in its territory and protects the interests of its members.

According to the regionalisation of tourism in the Slovak Republic, the Šariš region is categorised as having national to international importance. This also implies the importance and position of this region as a tourism centre in national and regional perspective.

Act No. 91/2010 Coll. on the Promotion of Tourism, as amended, regulates the promotion of tourism in the Slovak Republic, the rights and obligations of natural persons and legal entities operating in tourism, the creation of conceptual documents and the financing of tourism development. The above-mentioned legal norm also regulates the provision of subsidies to support the development of tourism and  the possibility for municipalities to associate without fulfilling the condition of a common cadastral territory, thus creating conditions for the development of tourism in the territory of its founders and members, with the aim of sustainable tourism development and protection of the interests of its members.
